Kia ora, my name is Tara, I am Head of Operations here at CVL. I grew up in the far north of NZ, mainly in KeriKeri and the Bay of Islands area, I am a country girl at heart with a love of animals, the great outdoors and wide-open spaces. I studied at Hamilton Teachers College and Waikato University and then headed off for my big OE to explore the United Kingdom and many other countries near and far. I had planned to be away for 2 years but then discovered I had Irish ancestry and was able to get an Irish passport so I stayed for 7 years where I worked in Event Management, Outdoor Education and Insurance. Since being back in NZ I have worked for the Public Service in an Event Management and Administration role and then at CVL where I have been since 2011.

When I first started with CVL, I was the only employee and now there are 12. I head up the Operations Team who are the engine room of CVL and I get to work with an amazing talented group of caring people every day. I have recently completed my ICF certificate, so a big focus for me at the moment is on increasing my coaching capability by practicing on my team and family, who aren’t always willing participants but I am enjoying the practice. A passion of mine in the workplace is budgeting and forecasting, I have a love of spreadsheets and tracking expenditure, and enjoy problem solving and working out why things aren’t adding up. Some might call me the finance guru and I am your point of contact at CVL for Financial Management.

People say that I’m a good team leader who is supportive, and cares for people’s well-being. I’m flexible, a playful professional and I bring a bit of fun to the workplace.

When I am not at work you can find me watching my kids playing sport, experimenting in the kitchen, spending time in nature, sitting outside in my bean bag reading my book, at the gym or out walking.
